You know it's a slow time of year when you're evaluating the shootout depth!

Zajac- i feel he is a great way to start because he gets in so close to the crease and causes the goalie to panic

Clowe- He can shoot well. His percentage is very impressive.

Elias- Hes Patrik Elias. But also he has tons of moves and SO experience

Zajac is debatable. I would put Ryder in. But otherwise, I agree.

Ryder

Henrique

Elias

That would be my shootout lineup. The couple times Henrique had shootout chances, he looked good. I feel like he is going to have a good bounce back season. If we do get Brunner I would put him in place of Henrique though. Remember shootout lineups are not set until DB hands them to the ref so he can change players game to game

Clowie has a nifty backhand move that he busts out @ the last second. Very deceptive & very successful.

He's a fiercely loyal, fearless, bood & guts type of player. You guys will enjoy having him on the team if he can avoid the concussion stuff...

I don't think people realize how important it is because everyone hates it. But being a good shootout team could be the difference between making or missing the playoffs, home ice advantage or no, etc.

I understand the points available are important... but let's be real... You can't predict a shootout lineup. You go with the hot hands at the time/day.
OUtside of that you can't do too much else. Some guys that are amazing shooters in the game, can't get it done in the shootout.

I don't think its that much different than predicting line combos. Some teams have them more set in stone than others. Some teams change the line combos every game and others will go through the season barely ever changing them.

Not for every team though. Two seasons ago, our shootout lineup for virtually every game was, Kovy-Parise-Elias(Can't remember who went first between the first two) with Elias being the odd man out very seldom

It's okay, we'll score so many/few goals next year that shootouts won't matter.
